Help on Cron for Domain Invoicing

Now that we have been using for well over a year now one of the issues that have come up is the fact that domain invoicing and payments can cause an issue.

If we have a client using PayPal and the renewal for the domain and hosting package come up at the same time, one is invoice is created for both.

PayPal subscription pays hosting package money due, does not pay domain renewal because it is not built in to the monthly subscription, if the client does not pay the domain fee then notices go out threatening suspension if the balance is not paid even though the hosting package has been paid for. The domain renewal has nothing to do with the package that was paid for, it is a separate service and should not be cut off.

Domain renewals should generate a separate invoice all the time and not be subject to suspending an account. You should not be suspending services that have been paid for.

At the very least I would like to see an option to bill domain renewals separately and not allow the system to suspend an account for a past due renewal.

What I need is a cron job to compare the domain renewal date to the hosting renewal date, and if the same, subtract 1 from the domain date - that way the invoices are always separate.

Anyone no how to get this done? othellotech responded the with the cron job idea when I posted this in Feature Requests. This issue is that we just had a PayPal payment pay for the quarterly amount of the invoice but when the payment goes through it paid for the domain renewal and left a balance on the invoice.

If anyone knows how to do this posting it here would be greatly appreciated.

so only apply "credits" to the hosting parts of an invoice ... will mean re-ordering the items in tblinvoiceitems, but can be done :)

i'm sure WHMCS can do this for you for a very reasonable fee - open a ticket with them ..
