sequencehost
Hello all, Im having a huge problem at the moment. Today someone ordered an account using Paypal and I got a email sent to me saying new order so checked my paypal balance and the money came through. The only problem was the account was not automatcally set up. When I logged into whmcs it also said "unpaid" even though I recieved the money from Paypal. I logged into my clients account and took a look at the invoice and it also said unpaid. Also when I manually create an account in whmcs it does not send out the welcome email. Does anyone know what the problem may be? I have followed all the steps to automate the process. Im really hoping someone will be able to link my problems together and give me an idea of what the problem could be. Thank you very much for any help on this it's urgent. MikeDVB
It sounds like you don't have the IPN set up at PayPal correctly to me - as for the welcome email not being sent - did you make sure to specify a welcome email on the product itself?

Hi thank you very much for your reply. Im not too sure what you mean by the IPN im using PayPal standerd though. What makes this more confusing is even with Google Checkout it does not automatically set up the account. Do you think this is something to do with my whmcs and whm not connected? I have the server set up with the hash key since the server uses cPanel. I just took a look and for all my hosting plans the welcome email is selected. Im certain the problem is whm and whmcs are not communicating because I must have left something out. Any further help would be fantastic. Thank you very much for your reply.
MikeDVB
IPN is Instant Payment Notification - it's how PayPal tells WHMCS that the payment was received. http://wiki.whmcs.com/PayPal
sequencehost
Thanks a lot guys I have now set up the PayPal Ipn. I also got a database 500 error and I have tested with Google Checkout as well and it doesn't set up the account automatically. But I have sent a ticket to support asking if they could take a quick look to spot for problems. Thank you everyone.

No problem, do let us know if you get it working and as to what the issue was (if you know).

Thanks, yeah I still have the problem. HostGator have no idea what the problem is and WHMCS support haven't replied in a while...
