I downloaded version 4.02 and have gone (replaced) files version 4.0

When he finished up all hope to update it, but I get the following message:

Security Warning

The install folder needs to be deleted for security reasons before using WHMCS

When you change the Install folder name appears as the WMCS version 4.02, but any time I post the update module.

Someone can tell me if this is normal.

Regards,

Joel

http://wiki.whmcs.com/Version_4.0_Release_Notes#Upgrade_Steps

To upgrade your WHMCS System, simply follow the instructions below.

1. Begin by taking a backup of your database through a tool such as phpMyAdmin

2. Unzip the contents of the zip file download to a folder on your computer

3. Remove the images/logo.jpg file to avoid overwriting your customised logo

4. Upload the files to your existing installation folder overwriting any existing files

5. Visit the admin area to access the upgrade script

6. Accept the license agreement

7. Confirm you have backed up your database and click the upgrade button

8. Once the script finishes loading, delete the install folder

9. Before the upgrade is completed, you must update your custom template with any new or changed template files

Make sure to follow these steps and then post back any issues that you have.

This is right but i sometimes just rename the install folder until I now the script it working as I need it to that way if I need to reinstall I just rename it back and do not need to re-upload it but yes I then remove it before going live.

But other then this I still do not now what his problem is?

Just re-upload everything and follow the directions and you should be all set.

  • 2 weeks later...

Having a spot of trouble with a 4.02-4.11 install.

Perhaps some-one can spot what I'm doing wrong

Have followed all the steps as per below.

Have also completed step 9

Problem is, get to step 5, and get the following warning

Security Warning

The install folder needs to be deleted for security reasons before using WHMCS

So I does that, and logs in to admin again, but a) the upograde script hasn't run and b) (obviously) to option to select the licence and run the script don't appear. the licence version still says 4.02

What am I missing?
