jnet
a client has paid many invoices over the year in japanese now he is in US and wants his new invoices to be in US dollars what should I do?
sparky
You will need to close that account and setup a new one in USD If you simply change his currency in his profile all previous invoices and payments will be the same number value but will show as USD and will put all of your figures out. eg... an invoice for 1,000 JPY will show as 1,000 USD instead of 10.86 USD This is the reason why I force all currencies back to my default currency in my checkout page on the cart. It also makes it easier in admin to only view the 1 currency. Only on my cart pages is where the user can change the currency to view the pricing in their own currency.
jnet
Yes exactly, If I change his default currency to US dollars but all his previous invoices will be insane:? the default currency for clients is Japanese yen so what is the solution? how can I change his only new invoices to US dollars? How to at least manually issue him invoice in US Dollars. Please note that he is not going to go to cart and place an order I am just trying to issue him manually a billable yearly invoice in US dollars
sparky
so what is the solution? how can I change his only new invoices to US dollars? The top line of my post is the answer. This problem was brought up during beta testing. Here was the answer. The option for an admin to change a users currency will be there for if absolutely needed, but it will require either changing or removing of any existing products, invoices & transactions. I would recommend most would close a client and open a new one for a currency change with previous activity, but say if it's requested immediately after an order without having yet paid, the option is there for an admin to make a manual changes if required.
