Can WHMCS be skinned so it doesn't look like WHMCS?

dbmv

Question

With so many people using WHMCS today, and with so many modules out, it would be dumb of me not to use it.

However, the goal is to be unique. Is it possible to integrate WHMCS, but change how the order form, client theme, etc, all look and feel? Enough so that they do not know it is WHMCS.

How much do those types of integrations go for? Are they possible?

Do modules look the same with any theme?

but on the flip side if you actively show what billing system you are using it makes it easier for people to find ways in!

If they know how to get into whmcs they will know if you are using whmcs... heck alot easier to figure out you are using whmcs then to exploit whmcs.

Yes, with knowledge of HTML and CSS (and a bit of PHP might help). It uses the Smarty template engine: http://www.smarty.net/

You can get a standard header/footer integration from WHMCS for $34.95. Other parties might charge a little less.

On the other hand you can pay hundreds of dollars for a completely unique template.

This integration by StudyHost is one we all love very protectively (some turkey tried to lift it recently and got jumped on from a great height-silly man!) and exemplifies what can be achieved: http://www.studyhost.co.uk/

But others have also achieved some stealthily disguised versions that you would be hard pressed to recognised as anything to do with WHMCS superficially simply by leaving things out and moving things around substantially.

Much is possible but by no means easy. Far from it sometimes. Hopefully, unique and stealthy skinning will become an art form in the not too distant future.

I do not see any corollary between unique and stealthy skinning v being proud of using WHMCS. WHMCS is a blank canvas not a design enshrined in stone for purists. WHMCS is a functional mechanism not a design. A point of departure that offers unlimited potential.

People like studyhost are the real pioneers though and I can't wait to see the next version. Have a go! :)

Regards,

Chris.
