robb3369
Would you mind sharing the name of the company you use for your support? If you prefer not to publically post it, can you please PM me that info...
Frankc
Would you mind sharing the name of the company you use for your support? If you prefer not to publically post it, can you please PM me that info... http://www.bxmanagement.com/ I paid for one year (Something in $200) and while I only used them a few times it's a nice feeling that there is someone on whole button I can press when needed. (Perhaps the worst about running a one-man show is that "you are alone" feeling) I mentioned this thread to them but they don't seems interested to offer any additional services.

Thanks for the referral. I don't recall this thread being mentioned in any tickets, however, we still wouldn't be allowed to promote ourselves here. I do want to clarify your last sentence there by stating that we are open and accepting new business.
openmind
Is it only cPanel server management you do or do you offer Windows as well?
Frankc
I do want to clarify your last sentence there by stating that we are open and accepting new business. Your own as well as MANY other services only focus on the server management side. I cannot speak on behalf of other "one-man" business owners but in my view it would be nice if someone can offer an "emergency management" service that INCLUDE daily tasks in respect of the management of such business. It can for example be in the form of pre-configured details such as support email and password (or helpdesk info), whmcs admin login details and/or a set of instructions/details on what is required to keep the business going. With the service for example being activated. 1) Support email address become active and are handled by your staff 2) On receiving of a new order, login to whmcs to activate order and do stuff like register the domain etc. Above would apply for temporally emergency situations and I for one would for example not mind if a secondary agreement stated that such company become the owner when the owner died, took full control of everything and pay a percentage of the income into a designated account for the descendents After all a half egg is better than an empty shell.
openmind
That's actually a very good way of looking at things, the same principles could be applied should the business owners wish to take a holiday. On that note, if there any UK ONLY hosting companies that run a mixture of cPanel and Helm servers interested in such a partnership, the should contact me directly.
nhudson
Your own as well as MANY other services only focus on the server management side. Understood. Thanks for clarifying. Those sorts of things might be something I'd consider later on, but right now, I do not have the staffing or infrastructure to support it. We have the staffing and infrastructure to support our management clients, however, something new would require a lot of coding. As I'm sure you've been able to tell, I don't just "throw up" a helpdesk and billing system like most places. I take careful concern as to automating and simplifying most tasks Is it only cPanel server management you do or do you offer Windows as well? cPanel only.
robb3369
I was lookng more specifically for the customer support side (end user helpdesk), as we already have the server administration taken care of. It would be great if I could find both at the backend and end user support from the same company (address level 1 -> 3 issues)...
