TDub
WHMCS seems to strip out any pieces of code a customer may put in their ticket. While I understand the security implications, I'm concerned that I'm not able to see the full message from a customer that contains important pieces of information (like a snippet of code for a connection string they're using). This makes it harder to troubleshoot technical issues. Strangely, I can see the code in the plain text e-mail I get notifying me of the ticket. But when I log into WHMCS it's stripped. How is everyone handling code in their tickets? It seems to me this is an important feature that is missing. Tony
DedicatedPros
I agree, this could be an issue, WHMCS should just relay all the information and echo the tickets as plain text that way no code will actually be executed.
Michael.Terence
I don't even get the code in emails sent from WHMCS
TDub
You're right, it appears the code isn't visible in HTML e-mails either. But I use Mailwasher which shows me a plain text version of the e-mail before I download it. That's where I can see the full message including code.
TDub
I just noticed this problem also happens when a customer includes a copy of host headers in their e-mail to support, which then get stripped out when the ticket system picks up the e-mail. So do many of you allow tickets by e-mail, or force people to use the web-based support submission only? Seems like some valuable information is getting lost in the mail pickup process. Is there any way to fix this in the meantime?
