How to change default Invoice# to different value

I was wanting my Invoices to start at a default other than 1 and also have 5 digits so I don't duplicate my client Invoices from QuickBooks.

After opening up the WHMCS database in phpmyadmin I edited the last Invoice in both "tblinvoiceitems" and "tblinvoices". ("invoiceid" and "id" fields respectively). This seems to have worked and the subsequent Invoices are being created and incrementing nicely after the change and the db appears ok.

Was this the correct way to do this?

Also I have one "stuck" Invoice (#1) which appears in the client area but not the admin area. (It's in tblinvoiceitems but not tblinvoices).

If I delete that row from tblinvoiceitems am I going to cause any problems? I see these increment sequentially from 1 on up without missing any steps.

Thanks...
