wipeout
Hi, How do I record outgoing payments in WHMCS??.. For example when I pay for my hosting or put credit into my domain registrar.. At this stage all domain sales are showing as 100% profit which would be nice but obviously isn't correct.. Thanks..
othellotech
WHMCS is a billing system, not an accounting program, so there is no in-built way to record your expenses - get something like Quickbooks for that.
Business Hosting Online
I thought of this also, so why is there a cost section in the servers options in admin, I thought, if I placed my server costs, it would deduct this from my invoices and show a true reflection of profits made.
wipeout
When you do a CSV export of the transactions it has an "Amount Out" column so I thought there may be a way to reflect outgoing costs.. Looks like it was considered in the database design but never implimented.. Unfortunately means all the monetary stats and reports are not a true reflection of how well (or badly) we are all doing..
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted July 2, 2009 WHMCS CEO Share Posted July 2, 2009 Go to Transactions > List All > Add and you can add expenses there. Normally domain reseller accounts are funded in large deposits rather than paying for individual domains so when you add $200 to Enom you can just enter it there. Business Hosting Online
Hi Matt, In the servers admin area in WHMCS, whats the purpose of the cost field there?
Zorro67
Go to Transactions > List All > Add and you can add expenses there. Normally domain reseller accounts are funded in large deposits rather than paying for individual domains so when you add $200 to Enom you can just enter it there. Matt Matt, there are 2 key issues with that approach. 1. The effect of contributing to a reseller account has an effect on cash flow. However, purchase and sale cost recognises the profit from an actual transaction, which is completely different from cash flow. 2. many of us don't contribute to a reseller account and in fact buy our domains at a singular wholesale cost per transaction. Could you at least consider adding a costs column to domains and other products, exactly as you have done long ago for for servers, so as to at least give us some flexibility?
mediademon
Would like to see this too, domain income is not currently a true reflection of profit.

Yes there needs to be a way to account for what the domain is costing in whmcs to make it's reports line up. I really wish i was making $1700 a year on domain sales.
