Multiple companies in one WHMCS?

patrick101

Question

Hi,

I am considering switching to WHMCS but wonder if anyone can answer this question for me.

I have a web hosting company but we operate under two different company names. (Dual branding helps us target two different customer sectors)

What I want to know is this: Is it possible to have all my customers in the same WHMCS database but make sure that customers get the correctly branded invoice and see the correct logo when logging into the system etc?

thanks

When you put systemtemplate=default in the url the template is changed for the client in that session, but not in following sessions.

But you can work around it with the custom client fields and cookies, but this is a nasty way of doing it.

It would be better if there will be a real function for it.

Have you considered 'Not Branding'

So your biz A clients & your biz B clients do not get any branding, just something generic like:

'Client Support' rather than Brand A or B

Cheap & easy, even if not ideal.

Multiple Companies under one WHMCS is certainly something i'd pay for. Even if we had to pay for additional licenses for each company, I'd LOVE to have this feature. We also have a few different websites with different target market's, but I'd love to have one database to maintain, rather than having three different WHMCS installations to administer.

Thanks for your comments guys.

BrianD: Yes, I have considered 'not branding' but that's a bit of a step backwards for our 'Brand A' clients who we have a very close relationship with.

I'm with 9DollarDomains. Looks like I will be running two separate installations of WHMCS. Definetely a feature I'd pay for too!

Well, I'm right now running four different websites for different market segments - partly because of Canadian and World markets, but also because of different target customers. It's a really pain to have to be jumping back and forth all the time.

I know it would probably be a large structural change for the WHMCS folks, but I'd gladly pay 4x or 7x or whatever the license fees if I could run the same database across 4 or 7 or whatever websites. It ''almost'' could work right now using different themes, but not quite.

Can you setup order templates in WHMCS like you can in ModernBill?

We also sell services using a couple of domains and even though the order system is all in one domain, we are able to separate out the packages available depending on which site they come from and also do branding with a template for each domain. It is the same parent company doing the billing and the billing system uses a single domain, so no need for multiple copies. Just looks like separate order systems. This allows us to adjust the packages offered and cost based on the target market.
