Refund customer using Mail In Payment gateway?

ditto

Recommended Posts

I am using WHMCS version 3.8.2, and DirectAdmin.

I am only using PDF-invoice sent by email, using the "Mail In Payment" payment gateway.

I am trying to figure out how I can refund the customer the money, because I am going to offer 30 day money back guarantee.

Of course I will first send the customer the money back from my internet bank, but the problem is how I can refund the customers correctly in WHMCS.

Most important is that I need to print out a PDF-invoice that shows that the money is refunded to the customer, but I just don't understand the procedure.

Please advice, wich procedure is there for refunding a customer when using the Mail In Payment gateway?

(I have read the following about refunding payments, but I don't understand it: http://wiki.whmcs.com/Invoicing#Refunding_Payments Also I can't find any "Refund" button in my WHMCS system.)

Billing -> List all invoices

find the invoice you want to refund, click on edit.gif next to it.

Then, click on the "Refund" tab and refund the payment.

Then the invoice gets marked as "Refunded" and you can print it.

Don't you think it's time to upgrade to V4? :)

I think that option is added in the latest version.

From the V4 changelog

Refund entry ability for all invoices regardless of whether the gateway module supports it with option to run gateway module automation if available

My WHMCS system tells me that I am using the latest version (3.8.2), and I did not know that version 4 was released!

Thank you for telling me about it. I will upgrade to version 4 in a few hours ...

This was good news! Thanks!

I have now upgraded to version 4.0, and must say it was a pleasant experience – because I did not experience any problems at all! Also I now have a "Refund button", nice!

Also I must say I really like the new admin theme, it was a big improvement! Thank you, WHMCS! :)
