Best server spec for WHMCS?

hostology

Question

I've been trying to run WHMCS on a top spec windows 2008 server for the past month or so but have had so many problems that i've got to look somewhere else in hope of getting it sorted asap.

Can anyone recommend a good host to go with, I guess ideally a dedicated server. Is a linux server the best to go with?

If anyone has any good recommendations where they host their whmcs then that would be great :)

Thanks,

There is nothing in the documentation that says it can't be used so why is it so difficult to get working?

*assuming* you have php and mysql installed and configured correctly, WHMCS will work the same way.

every problem i've investigated with WHMCS setups on windows have tracked back to curl/php/config issues with the windows server, and not problems with whmcs itself

however IME it is *much* easier to get a php app to work under Linux than 'Doze

and what do you mean by that, Windows 2008 runs better tham any Linux machine if setup right...

It was meant more as humor, but I agree with

... however IME it is *much* easier to get a php app to work under Linux than 'Doze

and

...Windows 2008 is a lot more involved in it's setup though so it's highly likely that it's not WHMCS at fault but rather the server configuration itself.

And I should have tried to be more helpfull, shut up or pointed out it was meant as humor :)
