Action Hooks & API Question

mike2352

Question

Hello,

I have a couple of questions:

1) Is it possible to have users sign up for new hosting accounts and domain names on my website, and link them via an API or something similar to my WHM and WHMCS so that they are automatically signed up(once payment is received and confirmed, automatically) and their account is created (basically everything is set up automatically)?

2) I have a script that will automatically install Wordpress. I'm wondering if it's possible to use a WHMCS action hook, so that when a new hosting account gets purchased by a customer, their new hosting account is set up automatically, and comes pre-installed with a customized wordpress package that I have uploaded on my server in a tarzipped format?

Thank you in advance for your help!

1) yes this is what WHMCS is made for at their first aim. They AUTO CREATE accounts once payment is recieved AUTOMATICALLY.

When they pay by PAYPAL, its auto. means you can SET it as once whmcs check paypal really has had the money, the account is then automatically created.

you can also choose not to automatically create accounts until you checked and accepted.

2) i am not too sure about Q2. sorry. tried my best.

I have a question. What kind of script you have that automatically installs wordpress? i am curious about it :P

If your account is a cpanel, and its a package that would be applied to ALL accounts you can put your expaned custom package in the skeleton directory of cpanel. Of courdse you would have to modify custom wordpress variables once the account is activated.

We've seen some postwww scripts that could do a variable replace once the account is activated

However, we have a much more specialised need.

We've been looking at some shared file modifcations, with some PHP code tied to action hooks, which would allow for different packages to be setup based upon different variables within the order. Eg product 1 =package A, product 2 = package B etc

Happy to collaborate if you are looking for something more customised

Hey chaps, did we go any further with this? I'm wanting to do a similar thing to mike2352.

I would like a customer to order a cpanel account and get a wordpress install autosetup. I'm also looking to setup a few more too including OScommerce, and a few other open source favourites.

If I can find an auto install script how would WHMCS call this on an order?

Thanks

Andrew

The ActionHooks shoudl allow you to do this post account creation, depending on how your script works, what parameters it takes etc - without seeing it I cant be more specific ...
