Admin backend login to control panel link

I'm fairly sure I've logged this before, but as its still a problem, here its is.

In v4.0, on in the admin panel of a client on the products and services tabs, there is a "login to cpanel link"

This link uses the default server option (as best i can gather). however, if a clients account have been moved to another IP, this login link still reflects the IP location of the original location server.

So 2 problems are apparant

1) that the link should reflect the domain name , or current IP of the domain name , and

2) that there is no obvious location within the backend, to change the IP of an individual account (please correct me if I'm wrong)

Why? If it used the domain for the link, you wouldn't be able to access it until the domain resolves. And if an account is assigned a dedicated IP, why should it use that - if it's on the server you've assigned it to the hostname or main IP should work?

Ok so maybe this isn't a bug but a config issue (happy to repost in correct thread for benefit of others if so)

But let me clarify

Original account abc1.com.au installed on default server 208.76.245.x

account later moved to 203.98.84.xx

domain name resolves to new server (2 weeks ago)

but login to cpanel still shows https://208.76.245.x:2087/xfercpanel/abc1

I'm assuming its pulling that IP from somewhere.

Then I figure it out--- have to change package to specify "server location".. Dohh!!

interestingly, that link is whm, not cpanel.

if you move their hostingto another server, then yes, of course you have to change which server WHMCS thinks theyre on :P

and the link is correct - as admin you go to whm which redirects to the users cpanel

Thanks Rob, go ahead and rub salt into the wound. :(

I think this is commonly known as a "BFO" (Blinding Flash of the Obvious)

I'm going to make sure I update the wiki about this.

Note to all posters: if you come up with a good tip or trick, a good idea, or just get a revelation, .....please post it in the wiki
