marky96
I just wanted to find out if there is a add-on module to install a script such as vbulletin, wordpress, after the customer has purchased a hosting package.
redrat
Fantastico, a feature of cPanel, already includes this facility for a huge range of scripts but not yet vBulletin. These facilities are not in any way a part of WHMCS nor are likely to be.
ES-Aizal
Go with Installatron, far better than fantastico plus you can add your own installer.
moonsoft
Go with Installatron, far better than fantastico plus you can add your own installer. Just curious but how is it better? I can see that it's more expensive, and doesn't automatically install anything more than fantastico right out of the box, please explain....
arcdigital
I believe installatron is cheaper, and it installs different scripts than fantastico (though most are the same)
moonsoft
Installatron is about $50.00 USD per server, where Fantastico is like $2.00/month through most of the 3rd party cpanel license resellers, and if you are hosted at la larger NOC most of them charge $25.00/month for cpanel with fantastico, so i'm still not sure what Installatron offers in comparison... not trying to steal the thread but i guess feature requests all come down to demand and feasability. Fantastico has HOOKS in cpanel that allow you to call up commands and parse data fields so you could theoretically write a module that would allow you to parse data to that hosting cpanel to install the fantastico script. I'm not good enough to attempt this otherwise I would,

JLHC
Well Installatron is far more powerful than Fantastico. Some of the features include:- More up to date script versions - It takes ages for Fantastico to update their script's version but for Installatron just put in a ticket and it will be updated (if they missed it). Backup feature - Installatron allows you to backup an install (including databases) and you restore them at anytime. You can even choose which files or database tables to be excluded from the backups. Upgrade feature - Installatron's upgrade feature is far more superior than Fantastico's and the upgrade process is smoother than the latter. Custom installer - You can even create your own installer of any scripts if it is not available in the Installatron library. There are far too many features of Installatron that are better than Fantastico and this is why many users are starting to migrate to Installatron. Installatron's pricing are also very reasonable as you can see here: https://secure.installatron.com/pricing Most of our clients switched to using Installatron from Fantastico of their previous providers and they have not look back since.
Shaun
Back to the question at hand. You can use actions hooks to execute a php script. THis scrupt could SSH into the hosting box "do stuff" then curl the "stuff" do install the "things". its all stuff and things
redrat
and 'scrupts', too!
marky96
my idea was, that when a customer orders the free blog he gets the blog software pre-installed and in his welcome email only gets the blog details rather than the cPanel details. And also get next to the blog a set of pre-selected themes or add-ons installed with the package. So basically, the Wordpress installation the client gets is a modified version of the one available in fantastico.
