POP3 Imports using SSL

Recommended Posts

I was having a hard time getting POP3 imports to work correctly from an SSL enabled server (outsourced to ihostexchange/sherweb) and thought I would just post this quick kluge I discovered that seems to get things working, Apologies if it's been posted before I have been searching the forum for the last hour or so trying to solve my issue so I hadn't come across it).

In your Support Department setup where you specify the mailserver port (normally 995 for POP3-SSL) I simply placed /ssl after the port number and low and behold I went from getting nothing being imported (connection basically timing out because it wasn't authenticating) to everything being imported correctly.

So if you're also having trouble connecting via SSL try changing your port setting from just 995 to 995/ssl
