New Site Makover with Joomla

Recommended Posts

nice integration however I wouldn't have a web design company site using a template, your website should really show off your own design skills not someone elses

also if you are gong to use a CMS and a template you might want to consider at least changing the favicon

The reason i have used a template is to get the site up faster i have a template i'm working on but it will take me a few more weeks to get the desired effect.

This is a great template and to be honest anyone that comes to the site probably would be none the wiser.

2-3 Weeks and the new template will be finished but a very similar layout due to the fact "I Like it"

Thanks for your comments.

basically, i do not know the smarty at all, what i did is strip down the WHMCS template so it was just the tables then integrated the joomla header code.

Then i did the same with the footer and thats it. I still have lots of tweaking to do but its almost there.

Ok so things are going well.

Main Site; http://159webdesign.com

Client Area; http://159webdesign.com/billing

Hosting Packages; http://159webdesign.com/billing/hosting.php

The Hosting area uses TS Hosting's "Plan Comparison" which is a great Mod and i would highly recomend it.

Just got to check links and speelcheck really and some formating issues apart from that im really pleased with its clean sleet look.

It is mny first integration and i use Joomla for my main site and below i have given you a few tips.

To create the client are;

1. Copy the template you want to use and name it something different and make sure its in the template file and selected in "general settings"

2. Find the headercode for your Joomla template and place this in your template "header.tpl" TIP; Use firefox with the web developer add-on then you can use the source code viewer Between <head> all the text in here </head> Thats what you need to transfer

3. Same with the footer but i would just copy your footer code as html and add it that way to the "footer.tpl"

4. In joomla create a new mod "Custom Mod" and place your login code in there (available form WHMCS integration code section)

This is a basis idea and more complicatid templates can be harder to implement but this is all i did and then tweaked it and thats it.

Maybe a CSS issue or javascript problem (with motools?).....Is better to ask your template provider about that...I don't have IE8 so I can not test....It is strange because IE8 are announced with 20% more WC3 compliant then any other version...

At Last well not rally still need to test but i have managed to get my custom template working in whmcs

Still no drop downs due to Internet Explorer issues but to be honest my clients only come to this page to pay so i will leave it for now.

Please any comments would be appreciated.

I don't have IE8 to test, but could you try removing all the li:hover styles from the style sheets?

I've got a feeling it might be due to that, however I could be completely wrong
