[NOT A BUG] Domain Renewal

I have noticed if a customer doesn't pay for a renewal on the due date it moves the domain to expired which is correct it should do this, but if they pay for the domain the next day it doesn't renew the domain with the registrar and we have to go to the registrar and renew it manually... Please advise
