Automating Processes

Al.

Question

Hi Everyone,

Not sure if anyone can advise on what I am trying to achieve here.

In the past I have always done everything manually but increased levels of business are forcing me down the automation route.

This is what I am trying to see if WHMCS can do for me:-

I sell websites already that I have designed and I normally include a domain name and a free period of hostong. The process I am aiming for is like this....

1) Client orders the site and pays via Paypal, sometimes the sites are sold on ebay as well.

2) I need to automate a request to the buyer for the right information so that I can initiate a domain transfer and for the hosting billing details.

3) I will have already uploaded the site to a Cpanel account on my server. Once its ready for the client then I need to notify them of the details, logins, email etc

4) After the included hosting period then the billing cycle kicks in automatically.

Now it seems to me that the billing part is easy enough with WHMCS but is there anyway for me to automate the process where I collect the required information from the buyer for domain transfer and hosting?

Also how could I trigger a welcome message for the buyer including log in details etc when the site is ready for them? I know from using WHM on its own that this email is sent when the Cpanel account is created but the Cpanel will have been created well before the site is ready for the client.

Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.

Al

WHMCS will do all this for you. You can collect the data in step 2 when they place the order initially.

Once you "accept" the order then 3 and 4 occur again automatically within WHMCS.

You just need to setup your products to ask for the extra details, and condifure the welcome email notifications with whatever details you want to include.

Hi,

Thanks for that but my question is how do I get the data collected for 2) Can this be automated via WHMCS?

Also if the 3) is initiated once I accept the order then it wont give me time to set up the site before it sends the CPanel information to the buyer.

You can easily gather the necessary details by creating product custom fields.

Thanks, So can you explain how I go from someone buying a site from me using Paypal or via eBay to gathering the necessary fields?

Is there some way of WHMCS being triggered after a Paypal payment.

Sorry to appear dense here but I am just not following the process.

The information would be collected prior to being transferred to PayPal to make the payment. If no payment is collected through the system, the account will not be active.

So I present an order form to a buyer, requesting the required information?

Is this generated by WHMCS?

How does the buyer then get from the order form to Paypal?

If the site was sold on ebay then how would this work as the buyer is sent straight to Paypal for payment through the ebay process?

Try the demo site. That might give you more of an understanding of how it works.
