Before I look at the free trial ;)

Question

This is probably a numpty question but at the moment I am using AWBS, but slowly getting fed up with the constant upgrades (which are not that easy with custom templates!!)

So:

1. Is there a AWBS -> WHMCS converter (please say yes!! ;))

2. Does WHMCS do everything that AWBS does for me? (Auto create accounts, domain registration etc)

3. Is it easier to customise than AWBS and would upgrades mess customisations up?

Sorry again for the questions, but wanted to make sure!

Heard good things about WHMCS so wanted to take a look!

Cheers

Ry

Hi Ry,

I think you'll be pleased with the answers:

1. Yes

2. Yes, and much more!

3. Yes, it is much much easier to customise. We use a smarty based templating system allowing you to easily customise any or all of the pages but a simple header and footer file is all you need to change to integrate the whole thing with your site!

Regards,

Matt

Matt thanks for the speedy response, you were indeed right with me being happy with the responses :)

I have downloaded the trial to have a play with so no doubt I will be back - what I must find now is that AWBS -> WHMCS converter...

Only downer I found on the install was the register_globals had to be on....

Right, on with the fiddling!

OK - another few questions:

1. I have a huuuuge list of domains at Enom that needs importing, is there a utility to do this?

2. Is there any way to let a domain reg go through on payment?

3. Can a customer just buy a domain name through WHMCS without hosting (one of the advantages of AWBS)

Cheers

The AWBS imported is available from the client area.

To answer your latest questions:

1. No, we don't have an Enom import utility

2. Domain registrations must be confirmed by the admin to occur and cannot occur automatically

3. Yes, a customer can buy just a domain without hosting

OK I couldn't resist.

I have manually added a domain but there is nowhere the client can update nameservers etc as in AWBS from their control panel - is it there and I am missing it or will it be in an upcoming release (I know they can use access.enom.com, but they have got used to it all being in one place)

Will leave you alone now - back tomorrow ;)
