Gears
Hello, Both the email and FTP method of the daily backups suddenly stopped working. Any suggestions for me? Thank you.
Matt Wade
No suggestions. I opened a ticket about this but they wanted to log into my WHMCS and I don't grant access to my customer records to third parties. So...I'm not using the option through WHMCS to do database backups (I use another method). If you get this fixed, please post here so we all can benefit .
xTiNcTion
Try re-enter FTP login details. That worked for us.
Gears
The remote server does not even get any connection attempts, so no opportunity for FTP login to even fail.
Matt Wade
I see the same thing here...no connection attempts.
xTiNcTion
what "activity log" says?
Matt Wade
Been there and looked there At the time of the cron run, the activity log shows the created invoices, emails sent, credit cards processed, etc. No sign of anything related to backups. It does show 'Cron Job Run' which signifies that the cron job finished running.
Gears
what "activity log" says? Yes we've been there =P I currently have a ticket in. If we resolve it, I'll be sure to share.

Gears
If you go to http://www.domain.com/adminfolder/cron.php your cron should initiate (note: might not want to initiate your cron twice in one day). When the cron.php runs via this method, my backups work. But still not when the cron job runs automatically via the server.
Gears
I have no idea why the backup works with the "curl" command but not with the "php -q" command. The sysadmin is not sure either. Any experts out there that can shed some light?
sparky
Just a thought!! From a cpanel or posible kernel update the cron file may have been updated and permissions may be set incorectly on your cron file. When you log into cpanel and go to cron, do you see a message that the permissions on cron are incorect?

When you log into cpanel and go to cron, do you see a message that the permissions on cron are incorect? No, no issues with that. Besides, I tried running php -q as root and it didn't work. Thanks though.
