why automatic cancellations don't seem to work

this has been an on and off debacle for us and was wondering if anyone had the same issue

usually customer would perform a cancellation and when they do, their products/service gets cancelled.

but why does it continue to generate invoice next month?

i see that the start/end date has been updated for the next month billing etc.....

basically i want to know, if the status on the products/service is set to cancelled, will it stop generating the invoice? currently i am either deleting the service on the customer's account completely or (the recent method) click on close client account.

also was wondering, is paypal cancellations still have to be done manually? a lot of clients do tend to either ignore or forget to cancel subscription from paypal even though it is cleared set in the site and the email.

and lastly, does the refund payment button work for authorize.net?

TIA!

it doesnt if the product is marked as cancelled, it used to if the cancellation is "forward dated" ie. at next renewal date but it was changed to not do that in 3.7

yes, but a cancel *request* doesnt set it to cancelled until the cron on the cancellation date

i dont think a PP sub can be cancelled by the API, so you have to do it manually or get the client to do it (or stop using ppsubs)
