no order but have invoice, possible ?

i am sorry,under my perspective,

 

we make an order may get an invoice,

 

it is impossible to get an invoice without ordering.

 

 

but i find the design of whmcs is separated for order and invoice,

 

because there is order id and invoice id,

 

i want to ask in what situation,

 

there will be an order does not need an invoice to pay,

 

or what situation there will get an invoice without ordering?

 

 

can anyone tell me more detail of their relationship between order and invoice ?

an order is a request by a client for a service

an invoice is a request for payment

you can have invoices without order - there is the ability to "create" an invoice from teh summary page of each client
