Plesk Client Created with tblhosting ID

Hey All,

I haven't been able to track this one down on my own, but when a client is created in Plesk, their name is appended with the relevant ID from the tblhosting table for that account. For example, when you do a module create on a client that has a tblhosting ID of 25 it will show in Plesk with the Contact Name being 'Joe Blow 25'. This didn't seem to happen with the previous version but we upgrade to 3.7.1 and we are now seeing this. Anyone have any advice for getting rid of this besides editing the client manually? Thanks for any help :)

I'm surprised nobody has replied to you yet. Is it possible that the client already exists under the name he/she signed up as? The only time that this happens to me is when existing clients place new orders for domains under their account. Apparently the Plesk API is limited in this regard and the hosting account cannot be created under the existing account. It creates a new client and appends the ID at the end which sucks but maybe with Plesk 9.x it'll be fixed (since it has true reseller support).

This isn't a limitation of the Plesk API .. its a limitation of the current WHMCS plesk plugin. The plesk API supports getting information about client accounts. The problem is that WHMCS doesn't check to see if the account exists or not. It just adds a new account with every new domain.

Just look here:

http://download1.parallels.com/Plesk/Plesk9.0/Doc/en-US/plesk-9.0-api-rpc/28790.htm

I agree that the WHMCS plesk plugin needs an overhaul. It should just check if the client account exists or not .. if it exists then just add the domain to the current account.

Hopefully with the plesk 9 release with new reseller templates etc .. the WHMCS plesk module will get an update.

I hope it does real soon! WHMCS looks good, it just needs to catch up a bit with the Plesk plugin :)

I did ask the WHMCS guys about this reseller stuff and they said its a limitation of the Plesk API. Since I've never played with the Plesk API, I can't really check.

To be honest I'm surprised nobody has asked for this functionality. It's typical reseller stuff. If an existing client wants a new domain, it makes sense that they would want the domain created in Plesk *under their client account*. Nobody cares for this functionality?? Maybe everyone else does it some other way ... I've no idea.
