The API is stable & reliable. You can use it to add clients, create orders & invoices, retrieve clients details, perform server operations, etc... and so can interface with WHMCS from your own coding and applications.


If it's a fully custom order form you're wanting to create, I posted an example form that uses the API @ http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=12169
