openmind
http://wiki.whmcs.com/Nominet On this page it has a No under Transfer. Now please tell me I'm being thick and this does not mean we cannot use the EPP module for transfers in? I'm assuming it mean we cannot change the IPS tag for transfers out?
mattpark
I suspect this will come in a future version, as the EPP update has only just arrived in WHMCS. Nominet do support TAG updates via EPP, so WHMCS will support it eventually. See - http://www.nominet.org.uk/registrars/systems/epp/transfer/ In the mean time why not just use Nominet Online Service?
openmind
Hmm not sure I made myself clear I'm aware that tag updates can be carried out by the losing registrar and that WHMCS may support this in the future but I want to confirm that it is possible to transfer in to WHMCS using the module in the same way you could transfer in a uk domain to Enom for example.
mattpark
No i don't think so... Enom use that system to make sure the uk domain is allocated to the correct enom account. At the end of the day all it does is send the domain owner an message telling them to update the tag. Working direct with nominet it's still a push-pull relationship. Unless i'm missing something
openmind
But as long as the client has updated the IPS tag to the gaining registrar the domain will still be managed in terms of renewals by WHMCS though right?
othellotech
I want to confirm that it is possible to transfer in to WHMCS using the module in the same way you could transfer in a uk domain to Enom for example. Simple answer - No, the enom method is peculiar to them and not a .uk feature per-se Obtuse answer - why would you want to deny incoming transfers - its a free client
openmind
So as long as the tag is updated to us we can still add it into the billing management of WHMCS though right?
othellotech
If the tag is changed to yours, you get an email about it with basic contact info, we always do a {tag} query to get all the details unless it's pre-advised, and then email the registrant telling them to go to http://www.othellonames.net/transfer.htm and "order" the transfer-in
