ramystyle
Hi, We are thinking of switching with OptimalPayments.ca soon as they accept canadians I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them ? If I am not mistaken, WHMCS can do recurring payments with OptimalPayments.. correct ? Thanks
dkent
Yes mate, I have had a merchant account with Optimal Payments before. My experience with them were very poor. Here are my reasons: 1. If they receive any chargebacks, they will make you pay it back with a large fine! 2. The registration process is long and strict 3. Their gateway is full of errors (although may be sorted now) 4. They charge about £250 ($500) per additional currency They are fairly competitively priced compared to other merchant providers, but i wouldn't recommend them to anyone. You're better off using PayPal's merchant facility.
JamieD
1. If they receive any chargebacks, they will make you pay it back with a large fine! Nearly all gateways, if not all will charge you when you get a charge back. Nothing different here. 2. The registration process is long and strict Compared to what? I just opened an account with them and it was pretty painless. Took a while for my account to be setup but thats not different than any other merchant account. I can't comment on anything else regarding optimal payments as I've not actually started processing payments thought them yet.
