Email Pipe Loop

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

We've just set up WHMCS as our new billing system. However, we have a bit of an issue with email piping and I suspect many of you may have had the same problem.

If a customer changes their email address but doesn't update their details in the billing system, when you send them an email it bounces back and this creates a ticket. However, it then sends them another email telling them that a support ticket has been opened for them, this then gets bounced and the cycle continues.

The same problem arises in the case of spam. If you receive spam, a ticket is opened, but of course spam generally doesn't come from an actual email address, so when an email is sent to them saying that a ticket has been opened it bounces back and you get the same cycle again.

Any suggestions on how this can be avoided?

Thanks. :)
