Optimal Payments support

JamieD

Question

Hi,

I would like to enquire about the state of support of the Optimal Payments gateway. I would like to use WHMCS but only if support of this gateway is full featured enough and reliable.

1. Does WHMCS support reoccurring transactions without storing the customers credit card locally? This is the biggest one for me, I will not use WHMCS if it stores customers credit card details on our servers.

1a. If WHMCS does not support the above would it be possible to have this support added and how long would it take to implement? (I's actually be willing to code support for this myself if you can't add it soon for some reason)

2. Are there any known issues with Optimal Payments support?

3. Do you know how many people are currently using Optimal Payments support in a production environment?

Thanks

Jamie

Hey,

How do you expect re-curring VISA payments if it's not going to store the Visa information ? You cannot make an automatic payment with information you don't have or keep :)

But then again, paypal allows you to accept re-curring payments (subscriptions) without any confidential details being stored in WHMCS!!

Almost all payment gateways offer the ability to send a customers card details in the initial transaction. You will then be provided with some kind of ID number which you can then use to submit additional transactions in the future without needing to know, store, or resend any information about the card being used.

Only an idiot would store customers card details on their own server IMO (this excludes those who really do know what they are doing and know how to keep their servers properly secured).

This is a question better directed to your preferred payment gateway supplier.

How on earth will my gateway know what features WHMCS support? Please don't bother to reply unless you have something intelligent to add to the discussion.

All the gateway needs is the amount and the customer details, why would that include details from WHMCS? It's a payment gateway, they work with trolleys, HTML code, PHP, and all the other stuff. Nothing to do with WHMCS.

You may also want to include an add-on in your WHMCS installation. One attitude correction, without smart mouth. I'll do it for free if you want to drop around.
