chrismfz
In 3.6.2 we have both Directi and ResellerClub module in our registrar list. In Directi we need a parent id and a customer id. ResellerClub only the parent id. All other credentials is the same and modules working the same. So, what's the diference ? Is the same company, same username/password, if there is something extra why not just included to the Directi module ? Is it worthing changing all domain TLDs from Domain Pricing from Directi module to ResellerClub? And what is the diferrence anyway...
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted June 29, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted June 29, 2008 The difference is that the ResellerClub module will create a customer account for each of your clients on DirectI's system rather than using a single client account to register all domains like the DirectI module does. It's up to you which one you use and it won't cause any problems changing domains between the two. Matt
bluenova
Hi Matt, A couple of questions before I change to the resellerclub module: 1. How is the customer username and password generated (what format) or does the customer get the opportunity to choose? 2. How does the customer get to the resellerclub client page? Do they receive an email with a link and their username / password? I couldn't see anything like that in the online demo? 3. What happens regarding account funds? As the customer account would require funds in it in order to process the registration?
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted July 2, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted July 2, 2008 1. Same as for your WHMCS Client Area 2. You would need to put a link somewhere - WHMCS won't tell them it 3. On the directi panel they would have to add funds to purchase anything directly
bluenova
3. On the directi panel they would have to add funds to purchase anything directly Thanks Matt, so if they are purchasing through WHMCS funds are not required in the customers directi account?

dexus
Reseller Club now have a new password policy from 28th April that is creating a lot of issues for us, because it require 8 character alpha-numeric password and most of our clients does not have 8 character alpha-numeric password so lots of registrations are now failing because of this... Error: {passwd=Password should be alphanumeric characters with minimum of 8 characters and maximum of 15 characters} So it would be better for us to go back to Directi module now but problem with it is that it requires funds to be added to RC customer that is used for domain registration. That is the only reason that we switched to ResellrClub module. So Matt, my question is can you please change Directi module so it does not require funds to be added to RS client account for domain registrations because that is for shure possible... Thanks.
fahmi
We also have the same problem after Reseller Club now had a new password policy. I hope this problem can be resolved soon
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted April 29, 2009 WHMCS CEO Share Posted April 29, 2009 So Matt, my question is can you please change Directi module so it does not require funds to be added to RS client account Not necessary. You can just add say 5 million to your client account as a one off transaction and then never need to worry about it again.
dexus
Thanks I didn't know that it's possible to add more funds than you have in your reseller account... But I still don't understand why Directi module requires those funds for domain registration, when it is possible to register domain without funds in client account like ResellerClub module does and like Directi module does for renewals.

Yes you can add whatever you want to a customer account, as the reseller account is all that needs proper funds. Chris
dexus
Yes, I understood that, but that's not what I asked in my previous post... "I still don't understand why Directi module requires those funds for domain registration, when it is possible to register domain without funds in client account like ResellerClub module does and like Directi module does for renewals." Is that just some glitch in Directi module or there is some reason for that?
prozacpups
This obviously didn't sound like a glitch to me. Im subscribed to their Blog Posts; you can read off it here. Sounds more like a security step taken. I hope this post helps answer some of your questions?
dexus
You gave the link for new password policy. I never asked anything about passwords in this thread...
