DirectI domain Auto Renew problem

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I've been using resellerclub (formerly DirectI) for registering domains for my customers since years.

I've several customer account in there.

Recently, started using WHMCS.

As suggested, i created the customer account and added the domain order manually to the customer in WHMCS.

While configuring the domain registrar earlier, i'd created a customer in Reseller Club and added the customer Id in WHMCS.

(For example : 12345)

A domain (xyz.com) registered by my customer last year was due to expire on 14-May-2008.

The domain was still under the previous customer id and not the one i created to add it to WHMCS.

I renewed, the domain from WHMCS interface and i also got an email to admin email address that the domain has been successfully sent to the registrar for renewal, but when i check the whois of the domain, the domain is not yet renewed.

Can you guide me where am i making the mistake.

If i want to manage the domains from WHMCS, do i have to move all the domains to the customer ID that i created for WHMCS..?

Regards,

Sriram

I came from AWBS, and all the DirectI domains registered before moving to WHMCS are in their own customer accounts. I will eventually get them moved under the master user, but for now when WHMCS tells you a domain has been renewed successfully, that is a DirectI domain NOT under the master user, just log into your DirectI interface, select My Billing -> Summary, and look for something like this at the bottom:

Pending Invoices and Debit Notes of Customers:

Your Customers owe you USD 8.95. Click here for the list of Invoices and Debit Notes

Click the "Click here" link, and you can multi-select all of the pending orders and execute them without payment, as a workaround until you get the domains moved.

Do this daily, because those pending orders get deleted after a certain time if not executed, and you'll end up with some upset customers who wonder what happened to the domains they renewed (I speak from experience.)

Is there any way to do the "execute them without payment" option automatically? I know is very dangerous to do that, but just in case we want to do so, is there a way to do it with WHMCS? (I remember that Whoiscart used to have this option)

What I was mentioning above is a workaround, and only applicable when you don't have all your domains under the master account set in WHMCS, which is against the way the WHMCS DirectI module is supposed to be used. Pending renewals that are created in the DirectI interface under these circumstances must be manually completed within the DirectI interface. WHMCS will only fully automate the renewal if the domain is under the master customer.

If you don't want to have to do this manual step, move all your domains under the master customer. I only discovered the workaround because we have a lot of domains that were registered to separate accounts under AWBS, and haven't had a chance to move them all to the master customer. (Sure wish DirectI had a mass move feature.)
