9thnode
I have done a quick search over the forums, and did not find an issue similar to this, so I apologize if this has been covered already. In the Manage Affiliates section, when editing the affiliate, there is a list of signups with a "pay" link. When I click "Pay" I get a message kicked back saying "Affiliate Payment Success The commission has been added to the affiliates balance and last paid date updated" However, the balance is never updated with the amount that is listed in the commision column. Granted this is post when the referral had already paid, (affiliate was added afterwards) but I thought that was the point of the "pay" link. Am I missing something here? Thanks

joe123
i am not 100% sure but i think the "pay" button means "approve" the commission which will add it to the customer client area that he sees there is a signup from his affiliate link .
9thnode
So you have to apply the commision amount to the balance manually? This can't be correct, especially given that the kickback message after clicking the pay button says "The commission has been added to the affiliates balance..." You are correct it does add the information to the client area for the affiliate, but it should update the balance according to the commision payout for that referral. Or am I completely crazy?
joe123
It will maybe update the client balance after "Affiliate Commission Delay" is over , it depends how many days you put there. Or am I completely crazy? that is a possiblity , you have to talk to your doc .
9thnode
Ah... good point. Did not take into account the delay. So I assume this would auto update during a cron after the delay? I wonder if this will update after the delay to my already manually updated balances I've just finished for all my affiliates. LOL Therefore, I've updated affliates A's balance from $15 to $25 and when the delay is over and the cron runs to update the affiliate balance then, it will reapply the commision to the already manually updated balance to make it $35. I believe this should be changed if true, since the balance should be updated immediately, and the delay should be fore PAYOUT only. Therefore the affiliate can see his balance, and know that he won't be able to request a payout from his total balance of X until his commision delay time of X days is finished. (maybe make the payout button for the affiliate not show to delay time of X has been filled?) Crazy enough?
ScrltOTara
I am having the same issues with my affiliate system. Client referred affiliate 6/28/08. According to my 30 day delay, they should have been automatically paid on 7/28/08, yes? They weren't. So I manually hit the "pay" button, and it said they were paid and the amount added to their balance, but nothing changed. They still show a pay date of None for that item and their balance didn't change. This doesn't sound right to me.
9thnode
here comes another bump
trappedatuf
I'm having troubles too on something that should be super-easy! I added a new product that has 25% commision on a one-time payment. But when I assigned it to an affiliate it shows that their commision is $0.00 instead of $400, which is 25% of $1600! I've deleted the affiliate referal from the order and recreated it, made sure the affiliate setup on the product was correct and everything else I can think of! Why does it say $0.00 as the commision for that product and is there a manual way to edit this to what it should be? I have no affiliate pay delay defined and the invoice is marked as paid today.
trappedatuf
Ok, so I just tried it again and it didn't work! Here's what I'm trying to do. When a new client pays for a website design (that's a one-time initial design fee), I pay my referral affiliate a percentage (in this case 25%). The only reason I want to put this into WHMCS is so I can track how much I've paid a particluar affiliate so I can have a nice easy way to see this. If you guys know of an easier way to do this, please let me know as I am all for it! So first I went to "Configuration > Products/Services and created a new product/service (because you have to have a product/service to pay out a commission) called "Website Design $2250". I have it set up like the following: I set the pricing like so... And the affiliate I set to get a 25% commission like so... Then I created the new order as shown below. I added Rob as the affiliate that should receive the 25%... But after I do that and I go to Rob's affiliate info page it shows that he gets $0.00 not the 25% as he should! At first I thought it might be because the client hasn't paid and I didn't mark the order/invoice as paid, but that's not the case as my other client I setup like this paid, and it still didn't work. Please help, I would think this would be simple to do and I need to be able to track easily how much I pay affiliates. Thanks guys (and I didn't mean to canibalize this thread, I hope it was ok to post here as it is on-topic).
trappedatuf
Ok, I just figured it out! I had to have the $2250 entered in the "Recurring Amount" field (not the First Payment Amount field) in order for it to count toward the commission. After I updated that and reapplied the order to the affliate (Rob) it worked and showed the commission as $562.50. Why does it work like this, isn't that a little funky? Also, since the product is Billing Cycle = One Time then this won't cause any problems in the future and no rebills or anything, right? Is this the way you guys would do this?
