9DollarDomains
Our Dedicated server provider offers Helm and Plesk on their Windows servers. I've STF, but I'd like to ask which is better - I guess which one works better with WHMCS, Helm or Plesk? Thank you.

Iceman
Helm get's my vote... but would rather use dotnetpanel Is that because dotnetpanel is not one of the many CPs under Parallels control?

9DollarDomains
Well, my choices from my Dedicated provider are just Helm or Plesk. I can, of course, buy and install my own - but support from the Dedicated provider would probably be better if it was one of the two panels they know about. At the same time, if we pick the right Windows Panel, then maybe there is little or no support needed - if it just works right in the first place. Does (Matt or) anyone know if there is a difference between Helm or Plesk as far as integration with WHMCS and how easy / automated things work? Any one better or worse in that regard?
9DollarDomains
Is that because dotnetpanel is not one of the many CPs under Parallels control? OH, so 'Parallels' does both Helm and Plesk and ModernBill now? Wow. I had kinda wanted to steer clear of MBill, so that down the road there was no conflict of interest with support or anything like that. Maybe avoiding Parallels is impossible now...

Parallels now owns: Plesk, Helm, Hsphere, Sphera, Site Studio, Confixx, Modern Bill, Ensim Pro... and I'll add others as I think of them. We run Hsphere, but since the buy out, are far from happy with Parallels attitude and treatment of their so called customers. The further I get from Parallels at this stage, the better. Cheers, Paul
scurrell
and I'll add others as I think of them. Or, as is more likely, Parallels think of them.
9DollarDomains
Parallels now owns:Plesk, Helm, Hsphere, Sphera, Site Studio, Confixx, Modern Bill, Ensim Pro.. Resistance is Futile. We will add your technological distinctiveness to our own...
SilverNodashi
so, the question is, when will Parallels own WHMCS, cPanel, DirectAmin, etc? It seems it's in their vision to aquire & control every commerical hosting related software possible? Back to the question though, I'm looking into getting into the Windows hosting market, so from the guys who have used either Plesk or HELM, which would you rather recommend?
Iceman
Hsphere
9DollarDomains
...so from the guys who have used either Plesk or HELM, which would you rather recommend?Well, our Dedicated Server provider tells me they recommend Plesk, but after questioning them - they say that's more because they are more familiar with it (and can support it better) more so than it being superior to Helm. My confusion kinda is... if we offer Plesk on Windows, then why are we doing CPanel on Linux, and not Plesk on both? It kinda feels like we should do CPanel/Helm (or we should just do Plesk/Plesk). However, if I'm going to have one Windows server, and if I'm running WHMCS, then I want to choose between Plesk / Helm based on what's better, and based on what works best / easiest with WHMCS.
TheHostingHeroes
Maybe avoiding Parallels is impossible now... I think that was their plan! One thing i like about helm that you can not do on plesk (AFAIK) is Helm can manage multiple MySQL Servers. Which for growing hosts is needed. Smaller hosts who dont plan on growing too big, would be fine with the 1 server.
