LevelHosting.ca
Hello Everyone, I emailed the actual support staff about this issue on Tuesday April 8th, 2008 and never received a reply. I believe 72 hours is a fair time frame for a response. Since I didn't get a response I thought I would ask here as others may have the answer or solution to this. I find it important because one it is offensive and two it will make our company look unprofessional since some novice users might think it's our actual system returning this information. I added the domain checker to my actual website and it works well. It shows if a domain is available or not but if you click the whois for example for the domain microsoft.com or google.com it shows derogatory and offensive information instead of the real whois information but then when I try a whois on tsn.ca or cnn.com it shows the correct information. As an example you can see here: http://www.levelhosting.ca/ After entering Microsoft it takes me here and displays the correct output: https://www.levelhosting.ca/order/domainchecker.php Sorry! microsoft.com is already taken! But then have a look at the output/results of the whois and this also happens for google.com: https://www.levelhosting.ca/order/whois.php?domain=microsoft.com https://www.levelhosting.ca/order/whois.php?domain=google.com Is this some sort of bug/glitch or comprise? I look forward to hearing from someone and a resolution asap. If I enter a different domain such as; https://www.levelhosting.ca/order/whois.php?domain=tsn.ca https://www.levelhosting.ca/order/whois.php?domain=cnn.com The whois info is correct. chickendippers
Your whois lookup doesn't seem to be working
penguin
What you're seeing has nothing to do with WHMCS - try looking up microsoft.com or google.com in any other whois utility for a comparison - what you're seeing is in the actual whois info
LevelHosting.ca
Hello penguin, I did try verifying using different whois tools before posting which is what I found strange. For example the following shows the correct whois for microsoft.com and google.com http://whois.domaintools.com/microsoft.com http://whois.domaintools.com/google.com It's not showing the same info as the whois from the whois of my site. I might just remove the whois info link for now. Thanks for the feedback though guys. Regards, LH
