Server Shopping Cart (Username)

When a customer uses a shopping cart link to sign up for a Custom server module I created, they do no get an oppertunity to select a username ( nor does WHMCS assign anything to the username field though it does assign a password). Since my custom module creates an account on the server via the username it can not automaticlly create it. Is there a way to change the shopping cart experience to allow selection of the username? Or maybe I create a hook to copy the value of "email" to the username variable?
