willow
I would like to offer some free downloads for my clients but currently the only options that seem open to me are: 1) Add the downloads but make it so they must login to download. The problem with this is anyone can register and therefore download. 2) Add the downloads as a product. The problem with this is that the download is listed in the product invoice and clients get confused with this because the natural place to find a download is in the actual Downloads section. Also the link isn't applied to existing invoices. 3) Use a third party script. The problem with this is the extra login required making it just difficult for clients. Can anyone offer any thoughts or advice?

willow
Configuration > General Settings > Other tab > Untick Allow Client Registration If i did that then clients wouldn't be able to register
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted April 3, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted April 3, 2008 No, "people" wouldn't be able to register without placing an order. Clients can of course still register during the order process. Matt

Matt Oh i see! If the company just handled hosting then that would perfectly then but sometimes clients need to register and then just have me send them an invoice. I'll put some more thought into that though and see if i can work around it, if not the only other thing i think i can do is password protect the download but have the password given in the Welcome email.
