hello!

I jut downloaded the upgrade for 2.5.6, but since when i upgraded from previous version to 2.5.5 i lost a bunch of configurations, and had to redo a lot of language configs, templating, and so on... i ask you, have any one here upgraded?

did you lose any informations?

I probably wont be upgrading till i get a positive response, as my last upgrade has been a litle bit unespectedly full of issues.

Have a nice day to you all.

huh? you just said you already upgraded from 2.5.5 to 2.5.6. So what are you talking about upgrading now? It was clearly explained that upgrading from 2.4 to 2.5.5 was going to require a decent amount of changes. Also, the fact that your not backing up your changed language files before upgrading is clearing naive. I upgraded from 2.5.5 to 2.5.6 with absolutely no problems. It does include two changed template files, but they were ones i had not changed yet.

I have to agree with MACscr and coffee23. The upgrade from V2.5.5 to V2.5.6 will not cause any loss of data - there are only two SQL queries as part of the upgrade and one of these is to update the version number! :) If you've lost some data then maybe you did a complete new install? Now you should just be able to restore your backup from before the upgrade and try running the upgrade again. There were changes to the language files so if you had made custom modifications to these then you would need to merge your changes into the new files - as has been suggested on the forums before WinMerge is a good app for doing this.

Regards,

Matt
