oc-scott
How to setup whmcs to offer first free month hosting to the new customers? We would like to charge them from the second month onwards.
BAJI26
You can set it up similar to this: http://forum.whmcs.com/showpost.php?p=54628&postcount=9 using coupons.
MikeDVB
My suggestion would be to look at what you charge for 1 month of hosting per plan, and then create a coupon for that amount, so that even if they create a 1 year account, they don't get their first payment (a whole year) free.

MikeDVB
The only problem with that, is if they want to order a year up front, they will not be able to get their "first month free" It is often in the host's best interest to have a longer contract to reduce processing fees. If you set the coupon for the cost of 1 month of hosting, they get their free month no matter what duration they choose. If you set it to 100% and only to monthly, then they *have* to order monthly to get their free month.
