JasonO
Is the server you on a shared server (with shared ip) ? It is possible the IP is banned by the server your checking your domain's on. I'm not sure where it checks or who to contact about that though. I know they ban some servers from checking due to too many requests (usually done by automated bots etc).
othellotech
does "whois (domain)" work from a shell prompt ? are all the functions needed by whmcs allowed in your php ini ?
nicox45
does "whois (domain)" work from a shell prompt ?are all the functions needed by whmcs allowed in your php ini ? i have no access to the root server, i just have an account with a paid hosting provider.
JasonO
Then there is quite a high chance that the server's IP your on has been blocked from getting requests for domain lookups. We was on a server that was like this, we just got a dedicated IP for a tiny extra charge.
nicox45
hey guys, i've tried with others whois scripts, and all of them say there's a problem with fsockopen() function, any solutions?
lynnette
Ours is working fine, so I don't know what the problem could be.
magga
You need to get your host to enable fsockopen() but if you are on a shared server then it's unlikely that they will do.
nicox45
i verified and fsockopen() function is activated and running, also i installed mrwhois script and it works pretty well, this means it must be a configuration problem instead a server one, what should i do ?
