Best control panel?

Last week i got an Sales representative from Parallels, trying to convince me to use Plesk. On my question "what are the pro's compared to cPanel" he said, It's better and cheaper. Well....cheaper my ass, and better.... in what? Has anyone seen the latest versions with all the marketing adds in it. (Wich will be shown to your customers?). Bad....Really bad! The only good thing is that in the next plesk release (i think 9) modernbill (wich is now owned by paralles) would be integrated. A control panel incl. billing is the one thing we are missing now. Whmcs&cPanel work great together, but man.... i would love a control panel with everything integrated with eachother! However.....still sticking to cPanel!

The problem with integrating everything into one product is just that ;) We use a variety of different programs for everything from support, billing, forums, monitoring and live chat. If a single company decided to offer all of those items, then SOMETHING is going to be underdeveloped or bloated. There's nothing I hate more than having to allocate system resources to a program that I only use a PORTION of. Keeping the separate allows us to choose the best features for the right job. Sure having just one central point is nice, but often it means sacraficing something. ubersmith is a prime example of how NOT to develop a billing/support/livechat/control panel system :) Not to mention the price tag that goes with it. I've used it when I was looking for a ModernBill alternative, but WHMCS is still better in my eyes.

i have been in helm for a short period, and i would never go back to using a panel with the billing integrated.

i just love how things work for me now with whmcs as the billing, support and automation system and cpanel/whm as the server control panel.

products i have been through and decided to scrap: helm, modernbill, kayako, plesk, hspcomplete, virtuozzo, windows... *phew* ... probably forgot a couple. :)

kayako was decent, but as support in whmcs has gotten better i decided to go whmcs all the way to have less components to keep updated.

You wouldn't be as excited if you'd actually used ModernBill, it's a nightmare to use and buggy as anything (v4, didn't use v5). WHMCS makes life simple and is basically pretty well done. Note that I can't comment on Plesk as I've never used it, so I'll restrict myself to ModernBill. :)

I've used modernbill for years ;-) I hated it! Same thing for plesk. The whole framework wich is running plesk sucks so much. But my point, i would like a complete system. Control panel, Billing system, Helpdesk. Just everything we need. And ofcourse good programming. The thing i miss right now in WHMCS are advanced billing options. Invoice Or i just won't get it, or this is a major fail!
