Option to change the base currency on products linked to Exchange rate

Recommended Posts

We have a huge issue in South Africa where our base currency is ZAR.  We use a lot of products that are linked to the exchange rate of USD/ZAR.

At the moment due to the volatility of the ZAR, I now have a full time job updating and changing pricing for all the products linked to USD.  I would love to see an option for the products where we can change the base currency on those products to be in USD so that the Exchange rate could update the pricing in ZAR automatically.

I have the following set of active currencies:

  • ZAR (Base currency with Base Conv. Rate of 1.00)
  • EUR
  • GBP
  • USD

For the selected products, for example, all Market Place Add-ons like SSL, I would like the Base Currency to be set to USD where the Base Conv. Rate will be 1.00 for USD and then the ZAR price should update with the daily cron.

I hope you could vote for this feature as I have no more time for my day to day job and just have to update pricing daily and we have a lot of products linked to USD.  I am sure anyone who uses Market Place knows that the billing is in USD.  if you use another base currency you will be in the same boat as us, even though your currency might not be as volatile as the ZAR at the moment.

Hope to hear any ideas from you.
