Renewal Emails have "incorrect" domain price as a result of price change

Recommended Posts

Domain renewal...

1. Customer is invoiced for a domain at the current domain price. lets say 10.89 so the invoice is raised with that amount
2. Before the invoice is paid, the domain price increases to 10.99
3. The domain is renewed after invoice is paid
4. Domain renewal confirmation is sent - BUT it says.....

Thank you for your domain renewal order. Your domain renewal request for the domain listed below has now been completed.

Domain: mydomain.blah
Renewal Length: 1 Year/s
Renewal Price: 10.99
Next Due Date: blah

It is putting the current domain renewal price into the email instead of the price they actually paid. I know this isn't a transaction receipt - but it looks a bit confusing to the customer - especially if they paid more for the domain and the price went down before it was paid.

It is at least supposed to be a confirmation of that exact domain's renewal, so the price should be appropriate to that actual renewal surely?

With current exchange rates changing all the time, we are updating our domain prices quite regularly. This is something I've noticed as a result of that. I guess its easy to change the wording to say "Current Renewal Price" or to actually remove the price altogether.

I think it's something worth mentioning in case anyone else bumps into this one along the way.
