No discount on domain names ?

I always fear I'll find in WHMCS that will block me and prevent me from transfering our main site to it. Found this in the online user guide,

 

"Discounts cannot currently be offered on Product Addons or Domains."

 

does that mean we are simply not able to make some of our clients pay a little less for domain names ? The way we work I cannot do without that, ie we have some clients who get discounts on what they order. They can apply the discount against one product or as a general discount % at the end of the order, or on domains renewals.

Any way around that ? Thanks.

 

Hmm the user manual may be obsolete, as I was able to order a brand new domain and apply a promotion code to get a discount on it, even though this is not the feature I'd like to have a discount applied for one client to all of their orders.

I could not see that box asking for a promotion code when trying to renew a domain from within the client area though ?

That's out of date and not the case any longer. Just go to Config > Promotions and you'll see the options you can get there.

Great. However I still cannot figure out if this is possible on domain renewal, as the invoice seems directly generated when the client chooses Renew for a domain, and our clients often renew several domains with 1 payment, before which I'd like them to be able to use the discount code ? thanks.

Some sort of "master-promotion-code" would be a handy feature, only applicable by an admin to certain customers.

 

i.E. all domain orders for customer A would be charged - 25% with this special promo code, while he pays regular prices for hosting&addons.

 

We got a few customers with 400+ domains, and telling them to enter a code on each order.. well, at least one of them will call me names
