New Instal, Cron Failing

I previously used WHMCS for about a year, I paid a 3rd party company to set me up and install an addon for me (at the time I didnt really understand what WHMCS was, just that it would solve automation that I needed).  Well I realized after the fact that they actually sold me a nulled product....  To do the right thing I have purchased an actual license of WHMCS and am doing a totally fresh install to totally get away from the nulled version (realizing the company i previously purchased from is crooked, who knows what back doors they may have put in what they uploaded for me).  I used ImportAssist to bring my old database into my new version of WHMCS and am getting things configured.  I am having an issue with the Cron not running though.  When I follow the help page: https://help.whmcs.com/m/automation/l/683269-advanced-cron-troubleshooting  I see in Putty that it sits on the Invoice step for awhile and then Kills out.  I have also gotten many complaints from customers that they have no open invoices, so its just farther verification that the invoice step is failing somehow.

I have verified that I have the correct version of PHP in my Cron command (7.4) and also in another post I saw someone say they had to set Cron permissions from 644 to 755 so I also did that without any success.  I have Cron set up in cPanel to run every 20 minutes.  I have contacted my provider (HostGator) and they are telling me they see no issues or errors in the log on their end being thrown by Cron.

What advice or tips might anyone have to help me figure my way through this?
