How to integrate WHMCS as payment for a Web Application?

We are building a Web Application (made in Java) and we want to use WHMCS to be used to process orders and payments, we already have a license for WHMC. For now what we have tried to integrate in our website is the Paypal payment button using the Paypal example from the Paypal website, however we do not know how this relates to WHMCS.

What is the general process of using Paypal as payment and WHMCS to process order? Do we need to build a plugin or something? We are thinking of using this library: https://github.com/CloDesk/whmcs_api_rest_ful_client_java

What we need to do is to put a Payment button in our web application (website) then when customer clicks that it will show Paypal window and customer will fill-out the Credit Card or paypal account then when payment is complete the order must be placed in WHMCS. For example we want to allow customer to purchase 1-year Subscription of service then to be billed yearly with WHMCS. Where should we start?
