jdatwood
Due to a split business partnership I'm having to move my hosting to a new domain name. How will this effect any subscriptions, etc that have already been created on the old domain? What can I do to ease the move?
joe123
1.login to the whmcs client area and click your license then "reissue License" Button Install whmcs in the new domain , and restore your database. 2.go to your paypal account , click "profile" > "Instant Payment Notification Preferences" Activate "Instant Payment Notification (IPN)" and the IPN Url should be: YourDomain/WhmcsFolder//modules/gateways/callback/paypal.php I think that is all !
twhiting9275
That's most definitely NOT all. From WHMCS' standpoint, it's all, but you're not looking @ the big picture here. Now that you've got WHMCS moved over, you need to go to paypal, cancel ALL of the subscriptions, and have the users re-signup under the new domain. If you're running a merch. account, you need to update them as well. The most painful process of all of this is going to be paypal/moneybookers/etc , because you'll have to do all of this manually

Correct me if i am wrong !
twhiting9275
when they paid him they paid his email account at paypal really and not his website because of the thread title itself: Move WHMCS install, etc to a new domain name The user wants to move the install, etc, to a new domain name. The etc is what is going to kill you. If you're selling, parting ways with business partners, then you need to start fresh anyways. The user is moving the hostingg to "a new domain name", which indicates that the user is NOT having any control over the OLD domain name any more. You can't just leave paypal subscriptions afloat like that, that's bad business practice.
joe123
it's not very clear from his post , but my solution was only if he still has control over the clients from the old domain as well and the paypal account. if he has control of the paypal account and his partner has control of the old domain and clients then i can see only troubles

This i know from experience.
jdatwood
My biggest concern was the subscriptions since the IPN won't carry over to the new domain. Thanks for the posts. I will still have control over the old domain but want to move to remove any connection to my old partner.
