If they pay for 6 months it's a 6 month contract. As for cell phones, if you sign up for a year you pay for the year or a termination fee + any discounts you were given and any other fees they can come up with. Just my opinion, but they should not receive refunds for unused services.

 

I wouldnt say never, but it shouldnt be policy. Whats the point of them paying up front for a year if your not locking them into anything? If they got discounted rate for prepaying, etc, are you going to charge them full price for what they used then refund the difference?

 

The type of policy your talking about shouldnt be automated imho as it will just lead to abuse.
