rbro
Is there any way to have WHMCS send some sort of notice if an automatic domain renewal is unsuccessful for any reason. This can happen for a variety of reasons, our reseller account balance is too low, network glitch etc., but I've been burned a few times and customers aren't too happy when they've paid for a domain renewal and it doesn't go through. How do you guys deal with this?

rbro
As far as i know it send a notice to the whmcs admin contact.... >The invoice for the renewal of domainxxxxx.com has been paid and the renewal request has been automatically submitted to the registrar if fail you will see the message above +.... Error: Domain name not available or Error: Invalid Domain Name or Nameserver or Error: Purchase price is greater than available balance ... .. . Can someone confirm this? I need to plug this hole. As far as I can tell in this most recent instance, the domain renewal invoice was generated and paid for by the client, but the name didn't get renewed and I didn't receive any notification. When I went to renew it manually today at Enom, it was sitting in the shopping cart. I'll have to double check, but I'd imagine our account balance got too low or something. Regardless, I need to be sure I'm getting these notifications from the system. Thanks for your help.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted December 3, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted December 3, 2007 I can confirm that does happen and it will also record the error in the activity log. Matt
rbro
Thanks. I'll check the log and see if I can figure out where this is breaking down. EDIT: Actually it looks like my logs don't go back this far. Any other way I can troubleshoot this? I'm sure I have something messed up on my end, but I need to track this down and take care of it. Thanks for your help.
rbro
Hmmmmm. A little detective work. on 4:23 PM on 11/26/07 I got a credit card payment confirmation email and at 4:24 PM , a "WHMCS Automatic Domain Renewal Success Notification" email for a different domain that in fact renewed successfully. On 4:40Pm on that same day (11/26/07) I got a credit card payment confirmation email for the domain name that DID NOT renew and nothing else regarding that domain after that. So, while I did not get a "WHMCS Automatic Domain Renewal Success Notification" for this domain, I also did not receive any kind of error email. Any ideas?
