xtmhost
Hi, I am looking for some clarification for setting up reseller accounts. First of all the cPanel module asks for a package name... since cPanel doesn't have 'reseller packages' as such (reseller privs can be assigned to any package a user has) .. Do I just setup a small base reseller package and assign all resellers to that? Secondly, there is space for Reseller space/bw and standard package space/bw, i understand i put the reseller allocation in the correct box, do I leave the standard space/bw box empty? Does it have any relevance other than display purposes? Thanks
xtmhost
I've managed to answer some of my queries myself after some internal testing, however I am still a little confused with disk space/bandwidth. WHMCS technical support told me to only put the package name inside WHMCS module and it will set space on the package, this is not the case because leaving the space/bw empty assigns unlimited when WHMCS creates the account on WHM. After further testing it looks to me like Reseller Disk Space/Reseller Bandwidth on WHMCS package have no relevance at all? I done a testing by setting: WHMCS Package 'Disk Space MB' 100MB WHMCS Package 'Reseller Disk Space' 1000MB WHM Package 'Disk Quota' 100000MB I then placed an order on that package, the user was assigned 100MB Disk Space. This tells me that the value set on the package in WHM is completely ignored and then the 'Reseller Disk Space' value inside the WHMCS package cPanel module has no relevance at all? Can anyone clarify? Edited July 28, 2016 by xtmhost
twhiting9275
The value in the cPanel package setting is always going to be used if a reseller (not root) is used to setup the account. If you use a reseller, leave everything but the package name blank.

In my case it's using the value "Disk Space MB" that is set when setting up packages in WHMCS within the cPanel module.. the reseller account is created from WHMCS as root. Which is essential making the package settings in WHM and 'Reseller Disk Space' in WHMCS redundant. Doesn't seem right to me, unless I am missing something.
