Just some ideas that may not help :)

There's a product out there called WHMreseller that may do part or all of this. It won't do the billing but you should be able to use WHMCS for that. You could use the checkout script to handle any automation required for this.

  • WHMCS CEO

The plan was to release something like WHMReseller as a WHMCS addon, but better. It would work with all control panels, allow for hosts to offer their resellers the ability to create reseller accounts from their WHMCS systems, but the demand just didn't seem to be there in the posts about it earlier in the year.

I'm up for it. I like WHMCS doing everything possible, so if this is an add-on (even a once off payment of something similar to WHMreseller).

When can we expect it? lol (I have one REALLY nagging customer bugging me for a similar solution, worse part is he's my neighbour... and a locksmith... breaks in and harasses me for it)

Count me in too...

this could be done with a mod for WHMCS... Surely you could have a mod where by your WHMCS install instead of using a server mod which creates the account on *your* server it instead sends the request to another WHMCS system which creates the account on *their* server and then adds the product (and bill) to your account.

This would work great for resellers as it would enable you to a) sell them a WHMCS license :P and then you simply provide them with the mod which connects to your WHMCS and their orders go to your system for setup... they handle billing & support you provide the products and charge them for it...

Why not make it like a brandable affiliate or a brandable reseller?

Brandable affiliate is simply that they can change the colouring, logo, and name/company name - and get what ever commission they earn (but you do the billing). You could then probably charge a one-off/monthly fee.

Brandable reseller is ok too - you give them a cost price of your plans and they determine the retail price, coupons etc - all payments go to you, and they still get their commission. The system should be set up in such a way that they cannot sell below cost price unless their account has credit to be debited from. And from within it, they can change the header and the footer colouring, add a logo, etc - and the terms of use include their name/company name. Again, you could charge a one-off/monthly fee, but slightly higher since they can compete.

You could even have brandable reseller plus where they can create their own plans and don't need to use yours. As above again, but with a slightly higher fee.
